In a new report titled “Achieving transparency and combating IUU fishing in RFMOs”, the EU IUU NGO coalition outline the minimum transparency and anti-IUU fishing measures that we consider essential for RFMO Contracting Parties and Cooperating non-Contracting Parties (CPCs) to adopt and implement. Relevant to the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM), we consider a series of measures vital to discuss at the 13th Session of the GFCM Compliance Committee, 19 July 2019, in Tirana, Albania, and propose these for adoption at the next annual GFCM Commission meeting in November 2019.
